Yara Baxter

Yara is a founding member and advisor of Alimi Impact Ventures.

Before that she has worked for Novartis Brazil for over 20 years. In there she started as Business Unit Director in Clinical Nutrition, then she was promoted to General Manager of the Oncology Unit and more recently was a Communications and Sustainability Director.

Among her innovative projects in the area of access to healthcare there is the “Carreta da Saude”, a fully equipped truck that provided free of charge educational programs for prevention as well as medical checks in both urban and rural areas of Brazil, always in partnership with local Governments. 

Before that, she was an Ambulatory Care Director at Hospital das Clinicas.

She holds a master and a PhD in Nutrition and Healthcare Economics by the University of São Paulo.

Her main areas of interest are Access to Healthcare, new business models and blended finance for prevention programs in Non-Communicable Diseases and how to include impact investing as an innovation tool in pharmaceutical companies.

Yara is a professional runner and fluent in Portuguese, English and Spanish.
